Kimbell Art Museum – Renzo Piano Pavilion (Kimbell at 40, 40th Anniversary Gala), Ft. Worth, Texas
The Piano Pavilion animation was created for a commemorative event, celebrating the Museum’s rich history. “The Kimbell at 40: An Evolving Masterpiece”, is a tribute to both art and architecture. The narrative depicts a first person experience as a sensitive reflection to the timeless beauty of both masteries, Louis I. Kahn and Renzo Piano.
The grand opening of the highly anticipated Piano Pavilion, designed by famed architect Renzo Piano, will be on Wednesday, November 27, 2013.
About the Piano Pavilion: A 90,000 gsf expansion of Louis I. Kahn’s 1972 masterpiece will be a freestanding structure placed opposite the original Kimbell. It will include changing exhibition galleries, lecture/performance hall, cafe, education spaces, tropical gardens and offices.
Construction Cost: $135 million; Completion Date: November 2013
